BASES DEL CONCURSO
The third edition of the REVONTULET International Creative Writing Contest features an open theme. Organized by Revontuli Editorial, it is aimed at young writers aged 17 to 27—regardless of their place of residence—provided they submit a work written in Spanish. The 3rd REVONTULET International Creative Writing Contest was established with the goal of discovering, fostering, and supporting a new generation of Spanish-language writers. Rather than simply awarding a finished piece, this competition champions the talent, narrative voice, and creative potential of emerging authors, offering them an editorial development process that culminates in the publication of their first work.
ABOUT THE MANUSCRIPT
Participants may submit an unpublished narrative work in one of the following genres: novel or novella. The subject matter is entirely open.
PRESENTATION OF THE MANUSCRIPTS
As part of the selection process, participants must submit only the first ten (10) pages of their manuscript. These must correspond to the beginning of the work and may not include any foreshadowing of the plot or ending. The work must be in progress and represent a narrative project that can be completed. If selected, the author agrees to develop the complete manuscript, which should be approximately 100 to 150 pages long, following the editorial support process and guidelines established by Revontuli Editorial. The deadline for submitting the final manuscript will be agreed upon between the publisher and the author after the decision has been made.
RECEPTION DATE
Submissions will be accepted from July 10 to October 15, 2026, until 11:59 PM (Central Mexico time). Works submitted outside this period will not be accepted.

ON EDITORIAL SUPPORT
COPYRIGHT
Formation and development of the work
Intellectual property
The 3rd REVONTULET International Creative Writing Competition seeks to discover and nurture new voices in contemporary literature. Accordingly, the main prize recognizes the narrative potential of a work-in-progress rather than solely a finished manuscript. The winning author will receive personalized editorial guidance from the Revontuli Editorial team, aimed at refining the manuscript into its final, publishable version. This process may include, among other activities:
-
Individual editorial consultations.
-
Critical readings and manuscript feedback.
-
Review of narrative structure, pacing, characters, and story construction.
-
Monitoring of the writing process through periodic meetings.
-
Stylistic editing, copyediting, and editorial preparation once the manuscript is complete.
The duration and schedule of the support process will be agreed upon by the author and the publisher, taking into account the project's needs and the production timelines established by Revontuli Editorial. The author commits to actively participating in this process and to meeting the agreed-upon deadlines for the submission of drafts and the final manuscript.
Copyright for all submitted works shall remain at all times the property of the respective authors. Participation in this call for submissions does not entail any assignment of rights, except for those expressly agreed upon in the publishing contract that the winning author may sign with Revontuli Editorial. Works that are not selected will be deleted from Revontuli Editorial’s files once the evaluation process has concluded, ensuring the confidentiality and protection of the manuscripts received.
FINAL PROVISIONS
Acceptance of the terms and conditions
Participation in the 3rd REVONTULET 2026 International Creative Writing Contest implies full acceptance of these rules. Any situation not covered by this call for entries will be resolved by the organizing committee, whose decision shall be final. Revontuli Editorial reserves the right to make operational modifications to this call for entries for justified reasons, ensuring that such changes do not compromise the equality of conditions among participants.
